... a dozen people from it. We stayed for about 45 minutes and went up to deck 17 for a better view as we sailed through the port to the ocean. After saying our goodbyes to the ones left we headed to the piazza to listen to a Steele drum performer. We decided to go to an early dinner around 5:30 and then go to the Welcome aboard show at 7:15. We had a young female server from Macedonia and her assistant was Yuri from the Ukraine. Dinner was good we both got a Caribbean style butterfly ...

... were among friends even though we'd just met.

For dinner, Ted and I dressed up for our 6pm sitting in the Silhouette room. This was definitely more of a formal affair, as there was the whole four courses of food I generally save a month for. We were seated across a couple from Canada who were older and nice to speak to. For the first time ever, I got to try escargot (I could only taste garlic), a well as mushroom soup, a salmon fillet and berry crepe.

... The red Chevrolet Spark we are given would look fine in Europe but alongside the gas guzzling trucks and pick ups of America, it looks very much like a smart car. 'Does that thing get crazy gas mileage?' asks one moustachioed gentleman at a petrol station as he looks condescendingly at the motor. 'Err yeah not bad' I say and he laughs away to himself. Our first stop on the road trip is at Cape Canaveral where we take in NASA's Kennedy space centre. With ...

... Europe became the perfect solution. And hopefully this trip will get me out of my comfort zone. If the trip doesn't... I know Dan will. (He's mastered embarrassing me already)

So after much consideration, feeler conversations with my parents, friends and coworkers and a heart to heart conversation with Dan.... I made my decision. I was going. My next step was to figure out what to do with my job. We will have to see what I come back to. Luckily I have a lot ...

... through poor, crime-riddled areas. Still worth it. Public transport. Know it. Do it. Spend less money.

    - TSA agents are not ALL ********. Some certainly are, though.

    - Vacation can be tiring, strangely enough. Take one day off and just sit around.

    - It's 6:45pm. My flight leaves at 10:00. Needless to say, I gave myself WAY too much time. There's only so much Neil Young to listen to.

    - More if/when I feel like ...
