In total there were 14 of us on the trip. We all met at the usual Outdoor Club trip meeting spot at 9.30am, piled into 2 vans, and began the 4 hour drive. It was getting quite cold thanks to a polar vortex, and the further North we drove, the deeper the snow and the higher the snow piles were on the sides of the roads. It was like driving through a tunnel.
Once we arrived, we checked into the place we were staying, layered up in our snow gear, and went snowshoeing on the ...

We started off our road trip with a short drive to our destination just outside of Trout Creek, ON. A small yet energetic crowd came out to bid us farewell on our journey North. With a final hug and essential first day of photo op, off we went with a slightly questionable puff of smoke from the ...

We got a nice early start this morning - after Bob emptied the waste tanks we were able to get underway by 8 am. It was very foggy as we pulled out of town and headed for the International Bridge leading to Sault Ste Marie Ontario. It would have been quite an amazing view of the St Mary River if not for the fog!

At the other end of the bridge was Canada Customs and the navigator directed Bob to the wrong ...

Returned to Mississauga in late April before being declared an illegal alien (again) - I count the days south of our border more carefully now. My focus was on: income taxes (thanks Eileen for doing Mom's return); banking, mainly obtaining new ...

We've enjoyed a few days in Callander on Callander Bay, Lake Nippising (near North Bay) with friends Judy Skidmore and Phil Hearn. Judy and Phil are long time friends from rugby days and it is always great to get together for good food, wine, port and conversation.

We picked up the trailer Thursday and have had it checked out and bought a few provisions before setting out for Lake Superior early Monday May 28.

        Now the adventure really begins.
