... to get the names of 2 young women who work on the weekly slot tournaments. They were particularly helpful, welcoming and always called me by my name. Quite amazing really when you think of the number of people they encounter every cruise. Now in our third week, there are fewer and fewer entertainment events that we haven't already seen or done, so our evenings are getting shorter. Just as well, because soon it will be back to reality! ...
Started our trip in Sardinia with Alghero, a medium size city by the sea. The hotel where we stayed was nice and modern and we were lucky to get a room that was facing the sea. Nothing more beautiful than to watch the sea right from your bed.
... and such a beautiful view.
We passed by Buggerru (included here only for its name) driving down narrow back streets narrowly missing someone's washing set up on a portable line. The washing can't smell very fresh by the end of the day. Unlike me, they are not likely to enjoy the smell of sheets dried in the sun.
The historic sign 'Tempio di Antas' meant a quick stop at this historic site where they have found tombs from 8BC ...
... Grotto di Nettuno (Caves up Neptune) After descending 652 steps we ended up at these caves and took the tour, seeing incredible Stalagmites and Stalactites formed by dripping fresh water from above and depositing calcium carbonates to form incredible columns in this massive cave.
After the last evening spent having gelato and watching the sunset, we hopped on the Ryanair flight back home and were left craving just one more plate of pasta or pizza of Alghero!
... and opportunity to see family and friends before hopping on a big journey.
It couldn't go smooth, could it? We started off breaking up in the airport when he arrived. Under pressure I stayed cool until I burst out again - packed my stuff and said I'm going to the hotel. His family lost hope in me I guess. It will be very hard to get it back.
We made up the next day, as usual! I see the positive side of it ...
