... to the parking lot and got on the road to Salzburg, Germany.

BTW, the Autobahn is amazing here! The rest stops are super clean, and many of them have a play area for the kids. We stopped at one of these along the way; it also had incredible views of the what our drive looked like most of the way. Now if I was only driving a vehicle that would actually go 200 kms/hour without shaking like a rattled aspen leaf :-(

... 17 years for Ludwig to build the castle, of which only 1/3 is finished. He lived there only 172 days, before he was mysteriously drowned at the age of only 40. We all decided that someone got sick of him squandering a fortune, so they "did away with him". However, the castle instantly became a hit and people started touring it only six weeks after he died. And as you might know, it also became the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty's castle.

... strudel. Just the icing on the cake. A wonderful day was spent & back to our hotel. Dinner was independent tonight so we found a lovely Indian restaurant next to our hotel. Vespers & best meal since I left home. And Greg had a lamb dish & I had a chicken one. A lovely walk through one of the gardens before retiring & walking off our tea completed a wonderful day.
