Rua Dr Manuel Das Neves 65 Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal, 000000
We arrived without incident after a short and pleasant journey. Odd campsite mainly permanent encampments! Most of them looked like they had been there for many years. We were entertained by families arriving over the weekend to pack up for the winter. They cleared out all the rubbish that they had accumulated over the summer. They then covered their caravan.awning and covered area with tarpaulin and tied it down and put stones ...
Aveiro, Aveiro, Portugal mikeandsuecuffAveiro is a sweet little coastal town with great long white beaches for surfing and nice flat rivers for kiting. Jon got out kiting our first day there but unfortunately squeezed way too much Vaseline in his new bindings to really enjoy his ride. He was kiting in storm winds on our smallest kite, so no kiting for me. The surf was insane that day and no one was in the water. It kind ...
Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal sofenjon... a corner store and 3- no one speaks English, and we mean NOBODY! We are adapting o.k. to the language barrier though. By the time we get home we be able to sign up for the grand championship of charades. The kids are doing really well and often suggest that we check our "porch- a- knees" (as Cohen calls it) book if we don't know a word. We even feel like rock stars here. I don't think the ...
Granja, Portugal patryOn Thursday, April 2, I left Cincinnati on a Spring Festival visit to members in Portugal and the Portuguese islands. My first stop was in northern Portugal, just north of Porto, on Friday afternoon, April 3. That afternoon I had my first instance (of many in this trip) of struggling to find a particular place or people. There was a period of about five ...
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal jorgedecampos... town’s population are students. Our room had a good view of the University on top of the hill. We wandered out by the riverside for the Indian restaurant only to find it closed. Back at the hotel, the owner & his girlfriend helped us prepare some soup & upma in the kitchen. After this great dinner & a long 500 km journey behind us, we retired to our bed.
Coimbra, Beiras, Portugal pille... sajandit kahanes elanike arv 2/3 võrra; täna elab seal ca 56 500 inimest. 1808. a raius Barra kanal tagasi tee ookeanini ning Aveiro hakkas taas jalgu alla võtma.
Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal pille... was tired of my pack, of always having wrinkled and smelly clothes, of having only myself to depend on, of staying in nightmare places, of those horrible days of travel when I never knew what was going on. The day had been rough, yes, but at any other time in my trip I would be laughing about it now. But I wasn't laughing. And then it all became clear. It was time to end it. I would finish out Portugal, end with a bang, and after eleven months on the road, see what the States had to offer...
Praia de Mira, Portugal bootsmade4wlkinHello...

I'm in Portugal now. Last I wrote was in Toledo, I think...I took a night train to Lisbon, where I stayed for one night. It's nice, as far as big cities go, but it's a big city. It's very diverse and the people are real laid back.

After that I went to Sintra, just west of Lisbon. It's a little town in the mountains. Lots of shade, green, and fresh air. I spent many more days there than I planned to. The first night I arrived ...
