I'm definitely not kidding when I type that I have spent the past week surfing the Algarve Coast of Portugal. For those of you who were in my year 10 outdoor Ed with Skilly, this is perhaps difficult to comprehend. Understandably of course, Grace and I were the two worst surfers in the water (...and lucky to make it out of the water alive on occasions). Well friends, I am proud to say I did improve over the week. Not only can I catch ...

... the top of the staircase down to the beach and proceeded to clamber down the 300 steep wooden steps to the bottom. What a gorgeous spot and the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Crystal clear water, golden sand and incredibly calm seas made for a lovely place to spend the afternoon . It was also a good spot to view the grottos from another angle. Since it was near to low tide we were able to walk between the rocks to another beach one ...

... Henry was not impressed because it was my idea to check out Lagos. But the place in it's entirety was pretty special. The little town was so neat and trying to drive through the narrow alleyways was an experience in itself. We ate at a small local restaurant owned by Scottish Billy who was the coolest chef/waiter around ...

Rest in Faro...actually lots of Sangria

... conversation. It truly was one of the best dinners of my life and it is amazing how a group of strangers quickly become good friends. It was a blissful experience. We then went out to the bars and had a lot of Sangria...there were 6 of us, and 10 liters of Sangria as well as a few beers and shots and all that good stuff. Faro was a lot of fun and restful, it really felt like home for the two nights I was there.
