hi all,
just have to show you these pictures. I have seen this hairdresser a few times but was reluctant to ask if I can take some pictures. Today I did. The old man so so kind and gentle about it that i thought i had to drum up some clients for him. Paul was closest at hand. Just look at how old and peeling , not just the paint but even the plaster. It must be so old. Even his clothes were in tatters but he did a great job. ...

... in ages. There are loads of poms and Dutch people everywhere. We took the bus into the town of Faro. Lovely seaside town with loads of character. Had a ride around town on a small train. Feeling better today, though apparently the Portuguese don't have siesta time. Though I did manage to squeeze one in. Had fish and chips on the beach with a jug of sangria while enjoying the sunset. We had all heard that the southern coast of Portugal is spectacular, so we of course had to check it out. Our first stop was a restaurant with wifi so we could find a place to get a view of the cliffs. After plugging in a nearby address to our handy dandy Gps we were on our way. However, as quickly as we were on the road we were just as soon off it. The point in which we chose happened to be off a narrow dirt road. Not being the first time I had taken the rental car on dirt, ...

Silves

We left Alvor early and headed north via Paira de Roche. Which was horrid and so built up. Along the river and crossed by Portimao then North to Silves a town on the river Arade. It had been the centre for died fruits although had seen action from Arabs and Crussaders. There was a large part of the upper town which was fortified. Thick walls on dark red rock. We parked up on a carpark with about 200 other vans on the edge of town close to the river and went ...
