Today we woke up stressing about not having a place to stay but luckily someone cancelled and we have a place to stay. We went to a castle and walked around and saw how they treated the prisoners etc. now we're off to oudenaarde to catch up ...

... Our rally starts at 4pm with drinks so we can't see the other boats getting here until later.

We invited Kas and his wife on board (he is on the committee) for drinks and so that was nice. After dinner John went to the club house to meet some more people, Isi was full of cold so stayed on board, but he came back early as there was no-one there. ... our way to the B and B. We arrived a little too early to check which may have flustered our host John Pierre, we assured him we didn't need to get in the room, but would appreciate him looking after our bags while we went out for a few hours. He kept apologising that there were people still in the room, despite his attempts to ask them to check out. No wonder he was flustered- we were early and they were late checking out! ...

... We practiced our year 7 German on them, lots of 'ich mag fussball.'

They dropped us off at the information centre in Knokke and we gave them some cappuccino flavoured truffles from Brussels. The parting was quite abrupt from their end, but hey, they ARE German, and we were at the seaside!

The information desk attendant said it was nice to walk along the beach and make your way back through the boutique shopping area, so we decided to do just that.
