The speed of this 'bullet' train was worrying me. It was becoming more and more unlikely that we would reach Paris in time for the connecting train. The Opera Garnier is totally astonishing inside. Absolutely every surface is covered with an embellishment of some kind including cherubs, mythical figures, sculptures of composers, gilt and red velvet everywhere. Acres of marble, a stage that is surely the biggest I have ever seen and outdoor balconies that overlook all of Paris.

... and Norm played around with our new camera and became quite the budding photographer. We then walked the grounds, meandered through the streets and came upon the Pantheon.
