    ... tan. And moving on!!!!

My friend Jim asked about the crises here. What crises? So far all I have seen is a few people lined up at the ATM’s. Greeks have a restriction of only being able to withdraw 60 Euro a day so they have to go to the machine often ( tourists still have no restrictions – well one, their bank balance). Apart from that you honestly wouldn’t know there were any problems. Tourist numbers maybe ...

Kyle's 30th birthday turned out to be an incredible day. We started off with the hotel bringing him a cake and singing to him during breakfast. Then we decided to take an adventure to the island's most famous beach. We drove for an hour and a half south through the mountains, much of it on the edge of a huge gorge. The views were incredible and there were several quaint villages cascading down the slopes. We spotted several picturesque churches and an abundance of ...

... fantastic seafood. At the end of the meal we were given free desserts and shots of vodka, an interesting way to end lunch! Kyle and I wandered the alleys a bit more before joining Ally and Blair back at e hotel for a rest. Tonight we plan on watching the sunset from the rooftop hot tub before heading to a restaurant in the city's old Turkish bath. We are already regretting only giving ourselves 3 days on this incredible ...

... war cemetery. Not sure how he would have defended the bay. Don't think it was a wise decision on his part. Anyway the Germans were never going to land there so guess he was saved the embarrassment of having to defend it. Cemetery closed due to spraying. Not a good day for seeing what I had planned to see. I did manage to go around the back of the cemetery via the beach and have a look though so all ...

... park, exactly 5 hours and 13km from the start. About 12 folks were sitting in the shade of a cafe/shack waiting to take a €1.50 bus ride for the last 3km out of the park and to the ferry. We decided to spend that money on ice cream, so we hiked to the minuscule town in 20 minutes to discover hundreds of tourists waiting for the ferry! Many of them had been there for hours after finishing the hike at the allotted times. At 5:30, ice creams in hand, we boarded ...
