I knew today would be a tester - at least 6 trains and 4 of them regional Regional - but we got off to a good start by arriving at the station at 25 to 7. I'd planned to catch the 7.41 to Besancon, which would give us 8 mins (if the train was on time) to catch the next one. Now we had 2 earlier trains to choose from. So off to platform F to catch …

... bus took us to St. Moritz. Along the way, we enjoyed stunning views of mountainous villages, snow and frozen lakes and rivers – breathtaking stuff for two Aussie girls who rarely see the snow.

Once up in St. Moritz, we enjoyed a lunch of pearl barley soup and potato rosti, both of which were delicious. It was the most expensive lunch we've had and I think we paid more due to only having Euro currency, rather than Swiss francs. We couldn't ...

I do notice something peculiar: an American flag, Italian flag and the regional multi-colored striped flag being flown side by side ...

I go to check it out and... sure enough, on the other side there's a magical trail winding up the gorge, with mysterious abandoned stone houses and rushing rapids squeezing between the giant boulders. It's not long before I reach my first mountain village: San Giagomo Filipo. A sizeable village built along the steep slopes. It doesn't seem to be just ...

... opt to set up my camera along the railing of the bridge and run down to pose with the guitar on a walkway along the river. Probably a foolish decision--as a somebody could bump the camera... and there'd go all the pictures and videos I've taken over the last couple of days... I continue on through the town, past a refurbished castle and an open area where you can gaze up at terraces and houses perched high up on the steep mountain slopes. This ...
