The riding methodology is everyone is ready @ about 8:00am. We get a briefing on where we will ride on the day, then specifically, how to get to morning coffee. Coffee is usually either just before the morning climb or just after it. The rental bike was a 57 cm BMC Team 3 carbon with a 105 build and compact group set. More than fine for climbing but a superb bike for decending. Dare I say it, better than Ti as it ignores bad surfaces up to a 4 or 5cm in variation. The ...

So this is what the Verdon Canyon is meant to be like if its not totally white out fog and pouring rain. Which it was all day. All 8 hours of sitting on a bus. Seriously tour company, if you know that a place is not accessible that day. Don't go. Stuff your itinerary!

Day 4 started with a drive towards Genova along the spectacular highway with stunning views over the rocky coastline. We didn't actually go into Genova but were able to see the huge harbour from the highway.

We simply loved our B&B in Monterosso and for that reason we were in no hurry to start the journey to our next and final destination in Italy I.e., San Remo. When we finally hit the road it was a journey of just over 250 kilometres along a very easy tollway which took us almost to the turn off into San Remo.
