2 hours to catch flight!

... spent too much time investigating. Aside from a few months of an Introductory German course that I failed and dropped, I certainly have no 1st hand experience with their culture.
Planning, plotting, and practicing is how I will accomplish this irresponsible feat of travel and confusion.
Godspeed and good luck I've wished myself well in advance.
Who knows?
Maybe I'll never even make it out of Frankfurt...

Beersteins and Feral Antics

Short entry this time....

Only here for one night. Got to the hotel saw a couple of shops with beersteins, birkenstocks and clocks. Had dinner and watched some feral women proceed to get ****** and act like idiots in the hotel bar. Some good news though, won 30 euro on the slot machine in the hotel.

One of the guys (we assume it was a guy) even peed in the hotel hallway and our Tour Manager had to clean it up. People can be such animals.

The first day of my 2nd escape

Again it seems to be an escape from the inevitable. But somehow I actually think it's way more than that.

Why do I think that? I'm sure you are wondering what special thing happened at the end of my last entry in the first world trip ...

The cute little german town

... go straight to sleep on the bus. she puts it down to having a kid and she can get woken up lots overnight so you get used to going quickly back to sleep but i mean seriously we're in a bus and its definatly not the most comfortable thing to sleep in.
Went to a beer stein factory this morning and it was heaps interesting to learn how they make them and the storys behind them..

Dinner with Nadine and Flo

... their walls, not to mention some German candies.

Unfortunately it was time to call it a trip, so we all piled in the car and Flo kindly drove us home on the ultra-efficient Autobahn where nobody drives slowly in the left lane.

Auf wiedersehen! It was a great trip!

A Change in Scenery

... admit, there wasn't just shampoo in our shopping basket - but chocolate is a staple!). Some family friends had invited us over for afternoon tea/dinner, so once back at the hotel it was just about time to start getting ready to go again. Once in my room, I quickly discovered the absence of MTV - probably to my advantage though, as I really needed to crash for a few minutes and dig up the last reserves of energy in preparation for the evening. After some tea, coffee, and Krapfen ...

Staying in a castle!

... to take it easy since then. Going to bed at a descent time, not drinking, and what not. We did spend a night in Luxembourg. Finding our hostel was not the most thing I have ever done. Especially when I feel like absolute ****, have to carry roughly 45 lbs of gear and have to walk an hour from the bus stop to the hostel since we apparently got off at the wrong stop. Yes, to say the least I was not the most pleasent person around. I ...

So close to the land of Oz

... a couple more things before going to bed. My last night in Essen.
Sunday I woke up and finalised my packing. I called Rafael's room just incase he wanted to come too, but he was not feeling too well. I went to say good-bye and just managed to catch the tram with Annabel. The train ride to Cologne was PACKED with people in costume, and most of them were drinking on the way there. Somehow on the train my mobile phone disappeared. It could have been ...

Arrival in Frankfurt

we arrived at frankfurt airport at approx. 1:30 pm. i was a scary sight stepping off that plane, but we made it thru customs and managed to find the terminal where we had to take the trains from. we had some time so we stopped in a little restaurant in the airport where eric enjoyed his first german meal of the trip and of course ...

Frankfurt by Night

I've been in Frankfurt several times, mostly checking out the gift show in my capacity as a trade show geek in general, promoter of my frog line in particular. So I know the town a bit. But this time we merely pass through, in the middle of the night, right through the center ...
