... 2 pairs of jeans for 50 francs (the lady stuffed up – they should have been 80 francs.. hehe!). We ate klopfers for lunch – my very favorite Swiss sausage YUM!! In the arvo we went on the little boat across the Rheine, watched a DVD with Erika, and she cooked us Raclette - a Swiss cheese dish that’s way more yum than Fondue.
The next morning we made it to Interlaken! We got there, grabbed some lunch, and then caught train the Grindelwald, which ...
... gave us a lot of information not on the signs and plaques next to the paintings. It took us about two hours to go through the collection with the guide as a companion. It was a really great exhibit; very informative and interesting. We learned a lot about Van Gogh during our time there and it was so cool to see how is talent progressed over time, along with his mental instability.
After the exhibit and mom ...

Mulhouse, Alsace, France purplevelvet... course drinking stations and small tented dance "clubs".
Most of the way you didn't really have to walk as you got pulled along in the current of bodies. We eventually got to the square next to the church where there was a little more room to maneuver and delicious food to sample. We checked out all the little African shops and stopped to watch cooking displays and mini dance routines.

... car to leave, skipping the museum. Once we were back in air conditioned comfort we reflected on the day and thought maybe we should try the amphitheatre as well. We tried to drive there but either it is inaccessible by car or we were very lost. I think in fact the case is both.
We went back to the theatre and parked there then walked the kilometre to the amphitheatre. This is about the time that we would have all been willing to consider kill one another ...

... of vineyards. It was a beautiful walk, and Pete decided that although the grapes were not quite ripe we still ought to pick a couple to try. Jess and Millie's faces were great, as they spat the sour grapes out. It was only till a couple of minutes later when Millie said, "Mummy, you get my grape out my nose," that we realized Millie had been picking her own! Luckily we managed to get it out, but not the easiest of jobs, and at one point I thought we ...
Basel, Basel, Switzerland goughfamilyinpa... recognized a few words on signs, and made our way through, while pointing and saying "bitte" a lot and "danke" of course. ;) Staying at a hostel in Basel meant that we got free tickets to ride the trams and buses for the duration of our stay. So we hopped on trams 15 and 16 and did the tourist tour around town. That was a blessing since it was very cold and even snowed twice! Very little, but it was our first time seeing snow since leaving home!!
