My hotel in Talloires is friendly and comfortable with fabulous views out over the lake. It's really nice to see both my sister Helen and husband John who are waiting for me as I arrive. We have dinner in their apartment in the neighbouring village. I manage to stay awake until 6.00 am Sydney time catching up with all the ...

... open containers of alcohol. Then we noticed it everywhere. Groups of kids, or guys or girls on either side, sitting around and drinking. I've never seen anything like it. And I didn't want to wait to find out what the place turned out to be like after it got dark - by which time all these people would be wasted. There already were a few groups starting to get a little loud and wild.

I began to get a little worried about our safety being ...
