... of eight from there to the hotel in their minivan.

The trams are great: clean, cheap, and all electric. The city of Geneva (from what I could see) was really clean too, with recycling bins everywhere there's a rubbish bin. The water here even tastes like New Zealand water! The hotel is really nice too, with big modern rooms. Definitely nice to have some space after ...

Woke up to another beautiful day. Hotel Pavillon had been excellent and a great place to relax for the night. Dinner was a 5 course meal with great wine to celebrate harriet's birthday. In the bay area, you could drive 6 hours north OR south, and still be 2 hours away from the California border! But in Western Europe, with that same distance you could go ...

... villages to the city of Cuneo that had an impressive viaduct. The Aire wasn't there any more but we walked up to the centre. Shops don't seem to open until almost 4 on Mondays but then we found it was a holiday any way, so all shut up as usual. Impressive big central square and arcades shops. Just as we were about to drive off a GB van pulled in beside us and we found out they were kiwis from Kerikeri in their eighth year of doing what we are. We went with them ...
