A very wet day as forecast so very glad we got the long journey out the way yesterday as the sea state looks very choppy today. After a trip to the airport to clear in and become legal we take a hire car and head to Grada. An old town in the flats that we had thought about sailing to but given the weather we thought better to go by road! A tour of Monfalcone followed and we managed to get an Italian sim so we have wifi ...

We have had a very long day - and we're only half way through it! Took a shuttle to Logan from Laurie and John's house in Oakland, Maine, leaving there at noon on Friday. Arrived at Logan with plenty of time to catch our 6:00 flight.

... one of the glass makers said to me, "Beautiful. Bella." It came as a bit of a shock, I turned to see if he actually meant me. I didn't feel that I was particularly beautiful today lol. I responded with, "Grazie," and smiled. Speaking of grazie, my automatic response is wanting to say danke all the time because I'd gotten used to saying it in Austria. I keep having to train my brain to remember that the word for thank you has changed now that I'm in another country. ...
