    ... eyes once or twice. Eventually, we entered a long, downward tunnel and emerged within sight of the Adriatic Sea. It was significantly warmer, and very sunny.     ... a shorter dress, which is just plastered to me and I'm trying to keep it from riding up and becoming a shirt. "This is so inappropriate!!" was something I yelled several times as waiters stood in doorways to assess the situation - and I was praying there wasn't too much to assess but I couldn't see anything because of all the rain hitting my face so I just kept pulling down the hem and running.     ... quickly solved! I packed my gear and Roberto let me store it for the day so I didn't have to tramp around with a pack on all day. I went to the post office and sent off my box of clothes, and then headed to Fondamente Nove - a vaporetto stop that connects to the Venetian lagoon. I wanted to go to the island of Burano, famous for its brightly painted houses and handmade lace.
