So today is the the day I begin my journey, although a Travelodge in Birmingham isn't quite as exciting as Tanzania... (probably dirtier as well).

I'm currently doing some last minute rearranging of suitcases to fit everything in, with the help of Kenny ...

... walked up a steep hill called Thorpe Cloud. Didn't quite get to the top as it was extremely windy and we nearly got blown over from the point we climbed to. Also Australia were batting, so the only danger was to the Aussies however they were happy to keep playing. Anyway we waited around for about an hour before they called an end to the day's play. A disappointing end to the day and probably the end of this Ashes series as the forecast for the final day was rain, so there probably isn't going to be enough time to bowl England out. ...

Woke to lovely day. Drove over to Wilmslow and ended up in the middle of a supercar show. Hundreds of people but interesting to see. Definitely in a bubble here. Called in for a cuppa with Colin and Christine. A quick walk to the Edge for clear views to Manchester and the Pennines. Dinner at home tonight with Malcolm and Joan and John. Good to catch up. A late night. But slept better. So comfortable in this ...
