A 0600 am wake up was on the cards today for our little day trip to Zermatt, a village in the alps at the foot of the Matterhorn the famous and highest mountain peak in Switzerland. It was a 2 hour train ride which we shared with great company of Petra and Reto that took us through some of the most picturesque and exist Switzerland country side. Lucerne
... that looked like gingerbread houses, sitting along the river. Each village had at least one large old Cathedral, and a castle sitting up on the mountain slope overlooking the town. Many of the towns are situated below vineyards that are on the impossibly steep mountain sides.

Tomorrow we are starting out early with a trip on the scenic train to eventually make our way to Venice tomorrow night. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will be able to capture some great photos.
