Not a very exciting day as we caught 2 trains to Montreux and Lausanne and then had a 4 hour wait before our next train. We walked around Lausanne and had lunch but it was again stifling hot in the middle of the day and I think in our hearts we were already on the journey home. The highlight was stumbling on and organ recital at one of the cities churches. We started out by ...

... of art. Jackson quite liked the orange floor in the basement. (Remember that orange and red are his favourite colours?) Oh, and the art was quite interesting too. We caught a tram to Paradaplaiz to meet Boris and were in awe at the ...

... a local brew in a tall boy can, even though it seems like they all come in a tall boy cans if you get it at e grocery store. One interesting thing is that the beer sold here can be purchased in cases and single cans, single bottles are not as popular. We walked the two or so miles back to the hotel. It wasn't too late and by 9:00 we were hungry so we order a kids pizza and kids ice cream, Brittany's first experience with room service. That was the end of day two. Miles walked: ...

... Italy (Tirano) and Switzerland. We step off the dingy local Italian train and out of the even dingier station and walk across the road to the Swiss station. Talk about the grass is greener. Clean, friendly, attractive looking area with great, helpful staff and signage everywhere. It was so easy. Next we boarded the Glacier Express. I don't know whether it's the tax free bank accounts in that place that has everyone smiling but jee whiz, everyone was chatty, helpful ...
