... quite a struggle! A local bus service runs in the direction of our villa every few minutes, but the determined streak in us all meant we wanted to achieve the satisfaction of making our way back without help from public transport - perhaps not the wisest decision in the midday heat! Eventually we arrived back feeling accomplished but exhausted, ready for a much deserved afternoon relaxing by the pool, with temperatures reaching 39 degrees! A gorgeous ...

WIthout a guide in the Acropolis we mostly admired the spectacle of the site, and ...

... spots - no one seems to mind though. But it is in the main port where passengers close their eyes; without too much of an error, the back wheels would be over the edge! The road between the building and the water is only just wide enough for the bus. We met up with a few Greek Australians who have traded part or the whole of their lives for a life on the island. We loved Symi; it was unexpectedly charming and we would go back in a heartbeat.
