    ... Not sure what time our bodies think it is so we are making it an early night and hopefully we aren't wide awake at 4:00 a.m.
    Well this ends my rambling account of our incredible trip. I keep thinking I'll wake up in the morning and it will all have been a dream because this truly is the stuff that dreams are made of.     ... down to our place to be safe and to watch as it burned and spread a bit before the fire department finally came from somewhere (they apparently don't have one here). It was a bit too close for comfort but I guess what happened is that the men chopping around the olive trees had not cleared the brush at the base so it caught and spread. Not sure of the whole story. We were the only ones that seemed worried though.

    ... hugged me and kissed me and Louise also. He kept saying how fortunate he was to have us there. I think my Zia Maria is starting to dread saying goodbye. She held on to me pretty tight tonight.     ... away, we stopped to pick up costumes for tomorrow night's big annual summer party at the house. I've only ever heard about these legendary parties and don't know quite what to expect. The theme this year is "Westerns". Antonio said you could come dressed as a cactus of you wanted, but it basically had to have something to do with the days when there were cowboys.     ... on us (maybe Signora Jack?) didn't seem too happy. Maybe we were interrupting a planned siesta or something. It was a gorgeous place and the Calabrese antipasto and fried calamari were excellent.
