It's right between Algarve and Lisbon, so you'd think that I'd be a simple matter of getting a bus and just getting of somewhere along the way. No... There are many buses to Lisbon, but none of them stop anywhere in Beja District. The largest city in this large district is only 34,000 so ...

We booked a private room here after about 3 weeks of not spending more than 1 night in a private room. ... about a 30 minute walk we found ourselves at the Praia do Camilo which is a world famous beach.

On the way we found a nice little shop to get a few ciders for the hot walk. Once we arrived the golden sands were stunning and it had a uniquely african feel to it from the surrounding rock formations in the cliffs.

It was spectacular and had hand dug tunnel through the rock, which led to another portion of the beach. We hired an umbrella for ...

... of it was scrub and cistus with the odd clump of wild lavender. We parked furthest away from other habitation as was possible and in the cover of darkness H struck out with head torch to relieve himself and Ludo over the brow of the hill in unseen territory. It was such a shame as it really was beautiful and after a cracking sun set the nearly full moon shine through the corks. We left quite early and went to Ourique then on to Castro Verde where we are ...
