... more tea. After that we headed back to camp. Settled down, and get ready for dinner. The main Bedouin made an announcement that he was going to get the food and anyone who would like to come could come and take pictures. It was really interesting because they made the food in the ground. As he pulled off the lid, there laid an arrangement of chicken, carrots, and potatoes. Very similar to my last nights dinner. However ...
... to be a little too warm for people like us that are too used to air conditioning. But hey, that’s camping. Cold shower in the morning to complete the experience, too!
Next we get on a bus to Petra, which is on everyone’s itinerary in Jordan. The bus is of an older variety and the driver sure did like cranking his Arabian music (thanks to our I-pod for allowing us to maintain our sanity!)
It really does look like a spot where you should see men riding on camel back, chasing eachother across vast desert plains and between rock formations. In fact, there were men on camels, and just camels, and lots of sand and mountains and stars at night.
Took a jeep safari into the protected area of Wadi Rum . . . very hard work, surprisingly as the jeeps don't follow roads so much as sand tracks and occasionally ...
