... a bus to Valparaiso. The bus ride costed the equivalent of $0.50, took about 35-40 minutes, and the driver drove at a rapid pace. We got off at Plaza Sotomayor and spent about a couple minutes checking out the plaza. It was really cool looking, and had a pretty cool statue. ... working now,so we did that super stressful drive without a Nav and we could have had one all . We've had a lovely walk around this city it feels like you have walked back in time. Valparaiso is still worth a visit but underneath the paint, grime, and no-go neighbourhoods is a city that could be in the top tier of must-see city destinations. Hopefully the authorities of Chile recognize the treasure they have and as they develop plans to recover from the latest fire disaster, they look to what could be a brilliant future.

We had been given a railcard by the hostel owner and having walked to the station proceeded to try and find out the cost of a journey to the next town of 'Viña del Mar'. The lady simply took the card, beeped it and said to go ahead despite having written down a figure that was four times what we were expecting. It was too late to get the bus now we thought and headed for the train, swiping the card on the barrier as we went. ...
