    First on this trip, Angie and I had a few days to recover ( and defrost from the Canberra/Melbourne winter) in Paris with Kate. Alan still toughing it out at home for a couple of weeks as he has a concert to play. Flew to Lisbon for a great week there. What a fabulous city! So relaxed and laid back.....but I feel sorry for the older on earth do they negotiate the hills in the centre of town. ...

    ... bottle of wine (2 euros 89!!) and have nibbles. By the time we finished drinking, eating nibbles and watching the bats and storks flying by it was getting gloomy. Nobody was really hungry so went to the sea front to watch the sunset and have an icecream.

    ... has a beautiful beach and a good tourist trade, we did not bother to look any further.

    Lovely drive and we crossed the bridge that links Spain and Portugal at 14:43, that was windy enough for the crossing of that bridge it was gusting 30knots and concentration is essential. If you slow down though and forget about the queue held up behind, you will be safe.

    ... The street was full of People, mainly families all sitting around eating, drinking and generally enjoying life. Australia could learn so much from the Spaniards. Streets full of tables, chairs and people. Couldn't help wondering whether the local councils in Spain have the same approach as our councils back home, I think not. A shared meal of 5 or 6 tapas, 2 beers and 2 wines cost a total of €23 (about $30). I'm thinking Spain is an OK ...
