EVENING REPORT:
Around 600 miles today -- we would have made Whitehorse, but the road was bad so it was slow-going. We were dodging frost heaves and pot holes most of the day, so even though there's still a ton of daylight, we're tired, and decided to stop in Haines Junction for the night.

Kentucky Derby Day
As you all know, we left Whitehorse and traveled to Haines Junction. It is really beautiful here and also the nicest place we have stayed at so far. Sure beats the truck!!!!! We had a wonderful breakfast at the Alcan Motor Inns restaurant. It was one egg, one pancake, sausage for $10.95 each. But it did taste wonderful. Something better than turkey …
