... Staying on the Concierge Deck has its advantages….too numerous to list!! We have been spoiled…and I think we’ve earned it!!

Now, the characters aboard ship are quite entertaining! We have one gentleman, no clue where he’s from, who has an elastic bandage around his head and chin. He rarely speaks, using hand signals a good part of the time, but he does speak….only not much. He is able to eat, and ...

... couldn't peer into the churches which apparently are impressive.

We enjoyed some wonderful meals in La Coruna and our stay ended with a fabulous fireworks display, which we managed to see from the boat.

We could easily stay here for longer but it's time to push on - we only have a couple more weeks left to explore the rest of the Rias.

We left Carino mid morning and headed west. There was a bit of a swell but nothing as bad as a couple of days back. We originally were planning on heading for A Coruna but with the lack of wind we decided to go into the next Ria some 12 miles away.

We anchored in one of the prettiest Rias (in our opinion) so far.

Unfortunately what we had fixed in Naves wasn't the end of our car troubles. After driving only an hour we had to pull into a a town called Gijion, thankfully we ran into someone who was British but could also speak Spanish and he drove us to several mechanics. Yesterday's visit to Ferrol had spurred us into an early start. The hotel bar was open for coffee but it just seemed surreal particularly as breakfast wasn't included. We took the opportunity to head back to Pontedeume and the beach at Cabanas for coffee and pastries. A stroll on the beach is a remarkable contrast to Ferrol with its joggers and jet set and one that makes me think more that here has become the summer retreat of those that work in the cities rather than ...
