Second day at sea. Slept well and woke to cloudy grey skies, although the temperature was warmer. We are, at this moment in time, 650 nautical miles off the west coast of Chile. We went for our usual Spanish lesson but unfortunately, Iban our teacher had lost his voice and was unable to teach us.Instead we put our trainers on and went for a walk around the promenade deck, we just did a mile.Came back to the cabin to change footwear, then I popped down to camera club. The talk was ...

I was pretty surprised at how bad that offer was considering how much time and money I, and other people, had put into this trip. 15% of the cost wouldn’t even be enough to cover the cost of my flight back to Ushuaia from Edinburgh if I decided to go next year. What a horrible deal from G.

... Chileans now and not one of them has been friendly,as in “Hello, how are you doing?” in a light friendly way,it has always been “Hello!” and then a sizing up with the eyes. They are extremely reserved and you seriously have to make an effort to get in there and connect, they will not make the effort to connect to you, instead standing back to observe to see how you react. This reminded me of England so much , a country where we ...
