      ... had thought we would be touring facilities - but nope, traditional Italian lunch it is. Lukka was very friendly and knowledgeable about both Italy and the AC Milan techniques that interest Conor so much. For lunch we had pumpkin raviolli with hazelnuts and some meat with polenta (I ate as many bites of meat as I felt was necessary to not seem rude...it tasted like I remember meat, but wasn't that exciting).       Museum at Academia for a bit of culture- lots of painting of last supper that were rescued(?) from churches in town. Some really old 14c stuff and some more recent restored items. Amazing brushwork and huge alter pieces some with bible stories that were new to me. Spent arvo wandering lanes and canals. Pizza at same restaurant. ...

      ... almost derelict, I guess to retain the feel of the real Venice. Pick up 2 ltrs Pinot for 4€ including bottle and some genuine local glass rings for the kids.       I persuaded Ben to join me on a walk around this beautiful seaside town at 630am with a lot of effort. Up until then he had not left the hotel.
