    ... the lovely pool before bed.

    TUESDAY: We had a fantastic day and really enjoyed our visit to Lake Como. It was definitely worth the drive and effort! What a truly beautiful place.

    We set out early at 8.30 in the hope to beat the heat and get a car park near the funicular railway that takes you up a very steep gradient to lovely views at the top. We had a nice time wandering around at the top and David was very taken with an old old hotel ...

    ... places to eat. Lucy was hungry again. Oh dear. Luckily we didn't stop at one of the restaurants along the canal and walked further where we stumbled upon a large open air market.     Lavishing in the quite of the apartment, we slept in till 9am, late for us. We had bought breakfast food the day before, so we made a nice breakfast and took our time getting ready.
