      ... but it really is a step back in time to be invited in. Through the old door to a small hallway, straight in front is a stairway. These stairs lead up to the bedroom area. We didn't go up there but I would of liked a peep at the upstairs section. Left turn up a couple of stone steps and we are in a sitting room. Long table, sideboard and all sorts of cutesy things.
      Kiss kiss on both cheeks to Carla and Katya, Carla overjoyed to have us there, Forese beckoning us to go ...

      ... walked up to the village. Last night we drank a bit of the local red and white, Womby in his wisdom decided to go for a walk at night and have a look around. Silly old pirate. So he wondered why he had sore feet in the morning, he went bare feet. Anyway we walked through the village, oood and arrrrrd at everything and Steve was amazed at the places he found that he went to last night to take photos. He couldn't remember.

      ... and cooler breezes. We met up with our local guide, Alessandra who took us to the Neptune fountain and fake outside statue of David, past the Santa Maria del Firenze duomo and on to the museum with the real statue of David. Incredible statues and David was magnificent at 17 feet high. We met up once the time limit was reached, after a short walk in heavy rain, we are back on the bus to our hotel (West Florence).       ... and the writer of the Divine Comedy. Come ON!! I geeked out a bit. Not to mention, the cathedral itself was stunning, as we the cloisters and courtyard outside. We headed back to the apartment and Mom cooked us a fantastic pot roast with potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, onions, and a salad. We enjoyed the delicious dinner around the large dining room table, sipped champagne, talked, laughed, and enjoyed the evening. Now, it's time to rest our very weary bodies and prepare for another ...

      ... but before that, we headed towards Porta Romana to look for La Sorbettiera. One of the best gelato so far! It was in a more residential area. There was a basketball court right opposite the shop. There was no queue at all and we would probably not have thought twice about the place if we hadn’t know otherwise. Would be a pity to miss it if you are around that area.
