Lots to report today. We had one of our best rides yet along the coast from Peschici to Manttinata through Gargano Park. Lots of rolling hills, little traffic and beautiful vistas. Between Manttinata and Manfredonia, our final destination for the day, there only two routes. One is a 2 km tunnel, closed to bikes, and the other is a mountainous road with many switchbacks. Unfortunately the local police had closed the road for a car race. We used ...

Our room has a beautiful view. Dinner ...

On the way to town, we found a cheese wonderland with aged cheeses, spiced cheeses and barrels of fresh bufala mozzarella. The later of which became our lunch. Things tend to work out. Thank you ...

Spent the day catching up on some much deserved rest. Got some sun and finished reading my book, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," by Maya Angelou. I only wish I had WIFI so I could communicate, it's been 3 days now. The ship offers WIFI but it costs $.75 per minute and an additional $4 to activate an account with them. I just keep hoping that we get access at the next port. I thought I should tell you a little about our ship. It is named the ...

... on the cliffs. We were entertained at the hotel by a pasta making demonstration before our lunch. Very entertaining and delicious. We predict that a high carb diet is the way to go and will be studying the benefits on our return to the states. The rest of the day we explored an old church and the towns streets and shops before gathering with our group for complimentary drinks and appetizers provided by the ...
