    ... Terre was a very fun and full day yesterday, but got off to a rough start. Turns out I bought my train ticket for the wrong day, so once on the train when the employee checked my ticket and saw it was the wrong day, I had to buy another ticket as well as pay a 50 euro penalty fee.     After leaving Cortona we slipped briefly out of Tuscany to visit nearby Assisi in the province of Perugia. Resting place for St Francis it was sombre to visit his tomb under the church there, however the rest of the town has been transformed into a religious tourist destination. What said it all was the carousel outside one of the churches that was adorned with religious motifs...note the Francescan monks in the background. ...
