    ... got up to 24 knots and the seas got much bigger, I kept thinking that you could surf these waves ! So we wedged ourselves in and felt like we were on a roller coaster ride at times. After 3 hrs of this we were glad to see the Italian coast. We arrived in Vieste at around 18.00 moored up and went straight to the bar and had a long cold beer or two ! Supper tonight was out in the town, plenty of pasta and pizza. 58 miles travelled ...

    ... coast road back to Vieste. The coastline is dotted with trabucci, ancient fishing traps. They are made from wood and rope and look like giant platforms with planks of wood jutting out over the sea.

    Back in Vieste, we headed out for the evening for a delicious meal of grey mullet, stuffed mussels and breaded anchovies. The restaurant was built into the side of a rock so it was like eating in a cave - very atmospheric.
