... to watch a man work in the vineyard, removing the weeds from his vines, and then very meticulously attaching the strong leaders of the vines to the support structure. It must take so much patience to be a grower of grapes, but ohhhh, the rewards! Tomorrow we leave Cinque Terra for the rural life on an organic vineyard and olive farm in Umbria. ... fresh pesto for lunch, and a coast-hugging boat ride back to Riomaggiore and it made for a full day. Dinner back in Florence late that night -- papardelle (long, wide noodles) in wild boar sauce with a nice Italian beer (Mike felt like he deserved it) and a spicy penne pasta with Chianti (for Sharon) -- made for the perfect Italian trek.

You must try this yourself some day!

... googled an Italian-English dictionary to look up some of the terms that come up in the listings over and over, so the mystery is lessened. There are kitchens and kitchenettes, terraces and gardens, etc and we suspect doppi servizi-double duty means studio with living room and bedroom combined not den or storage like in Van.
