... was made differently than others (using no yeast) and a fairly fruity red wine. The wine at this winery, which produces only 60,000 bottles annually, is mostly for the owner's restaurant in New York (70%), 10% goes to England and the rest is drunk by tourists like me(!) at these tastings or purchased by them to take with.

... you have a closer inspection you realise the facades are all painted. Fake, not real. A bit like the 'grand daughters' we kept seeing.
We had a coffee at a cafe on the water front and sat people watching for a while. Fascinating. We're glad we saw Portofino but don't quite understand what all the fuss is about.
We spent the night back in Santa Margherita, unfortunately just a single night stay as this town is lovely.

... googled an Italian-English dictionary to look up some of the terms that come up in the listings over and over, so the mystery is lessened. There are kitchens and kitchenettes, terraces and gardens, etc and we suspect doppi servizi-double duty means studio with living room and bedroom combined not den or storage like in Van.
