The day I was turning everyone's head

... to see just how beautiful this place really is. There are views straight out of postcards everywhere and the sea was perfectly clear and turquoise blue, it really was a place right from my dreams. The only downside was the whipping wind, but I can only imagine how perfect a destination this would be in the Summer.

The town was so cute, too. If you picture an Italian village where everyone knows each other, everyone is yelling, the families ...

      To Bari

... The town was nice with beautiful ocean views. Spent around 3 hours there then back to Bari by train. Well then I did the worst thing! I had McDonalds for lunch. It was quite nice though. Lucky I did because I had it at around 2.40pm which did me for dinner as well with just a bit of fruit. Bari itself is an ok town, but nothing special. Its pretty quiet today, being Sunday. It's a jumping off point for the ferries to Greece ...

      In Martina Franca

Day 3. No rain today so I got the train to Alberobello which is about 10 km away. The view was amazing with all the little trulli houses scattered throughout the countryside. They're little round houses that the poor people used to live in. Now they've all been or are being done up. Still lots of dry stone walls around here. It's very agricultural. Had a good day wandering around Alberobello. Went into the tourist trulli and the Basillica of Medici. Gees it ...

... old Italy anyway). I had also planned to go by bus to Alberobello to see the Trulli houses. Too wet for that too. I've decided to stay here for an extra 2 days so hopefully I'll be able to get there. Weather forecast doesn't look great though. I'm really liking this little town. It's so picturesque in the Centro storico. I'm loving the little unit too. Fully self contained, very clean and only 30 euro a night. ...

      Lecce to Martina Franca

Raining again this morning. It's quite cold too. Got a taxi to the station - 12 euro - about 5 mins driving. Pretty expensive. Regional train to Martina Franca - about 2 hours, 7.70 euros. Countryside is very flat and quite stony. There's some dry stone walls and I even saw a shepherd with his sheep. Lots of olive trees (some very old), grape vines, market gardens. Lots of little villages only about 5 mins apart (by train). There's older school kids on the train. Don't ...
