      ... very cosy and settling in for our first night, dinner in again. 5.11.14 Alberobello Had very heavy wind and rain last night, so bed was quite comfy to stay in, breakfast was simple but nice. Decided to go for a drive and explore and there are Trulli's built for miles around not just close to Alberobello.       ... was a small procession of locals (remembering the dead we assume) – because it is All Souls Day tomorrow. Italy is a really religious country.       ... and easily found the main centre Piazza. This was pretty with church and statue of San Oronzo dominating the square. Apparently, he is the town protector. Then we proceeded to get lost. Craig is usually excellent but the map was **** and when we ended up in the residential area (full of all white houses), most of them had no idea how to direct us (??? No comment).
