Quaint and quirky, with a happy atmosphere

Quaint little hotel with very friendly staff who are always happy to help. If you're looking for luxury, this definitely isn't it, but the quirkiness and genuineness of this hotel will add to your overall Venice experience nicely.

Today was not a big photos day, nor was it a big sight-seeing day. Today was a sit-in-the-car-all-sleepy-and-bored-day .

The bed at Best Western in Milan was so comfy that even TJ didn't want to get out of bed this morning! He's normally up at 6am, telling me I'm wasting daylight, but this morning I was up, showered and dressed before he …

Our last full day in Venice today - already dreading getting back on the road tomorrow! It was definitely a good day though.

We started it off by visiting a museum. We figured we'd been skipping out on the history and culture in favour of shopping lately, so time for something different. It took us a while to find the museum we were …

Venice is lovely. I love it here. In fact, I think it might be my favourite city so far. I just told that to TJ and we had a 10 minute discussion over the matter. Swiss Alps were amazing for the views and snow, Paris was great for the culture and that cute little town we stayed in in France that we still haven't quite worked out the name of was the …

... t remember the names of or spell! Haha

The caves are quite beautiful - amazingly the larger pillars grow at a rate of 1 inch every 250 years and the smaller "spaghetti" strands are even slower at ?1mm every 100 years. You can't really get an idea if the size in the photos but the caves at there highest point would have to be 5 or 6 meters in height and perhaps even higher so you can imagine the age of some of these structures! Very ...

... an hour ago they decided it was time to be up....I don't fall back asleep well, and they've been standing outside the door talking so I decided to start journaling our Venice weekend so far. We should be there in about an hour. Everyone has said we will love it, so we are really excited to get there. We've also been instructed to try the pizza and gelato :) more to ...
