    Bare Beaches - NOT!

I'm starting to understand why people go to NZ and RAVE about the beaches.

Today I’m on my way to spend three nights on the 'Italian Riviera’, for my Easter break. According to Wikipedia, this area is "The Italian Riviera, or Ligurian Riviera (Italian Riviera ligure) the narrow coastal strip which lies between the Ligurian Sea and the mountain chain formed by ...

We set out from Tirano this morning to head south. The plan was to get to Genoa or Savona - but we had to tackle the Autostrada through Milan first. Sorry to say, no photo's today. You can't take photos when you are hanging on for your life with one hand and making the sign of the cross with the other! I say it every time.....never again! But, there was a highlight, we stopped off at the Factory Outlets in Alexandria for a spot of retail therapy, it must have done the ...

I got a map, which ive never been very good at navigating, but surprised myself and found most of the places I aimed to find! Firstly I went to the Piazza di Ferrari, a large square with a huge water feature in the centre of the city, surrounded by shops! I browsed the ...

... we headed to Portofino, it is only 5km's around the coast but it still takes 15 minutes to get there. I now know why campervans are not allowed. They are the narrowest roads for a 2 lane road I have ever seen, each time we headed towards a bend in the road the bus driver would sit on his horn to warn traffic that we were coming, a few times the cars had to stop and reverse back so we could get through. A very interesting ride to say the least ...

... should see this place. It is a don't miss. Back for a siesta and then off we went again to the fishing village of Campiglia. Just beautiful, old, true village style, very steep (what IS it about these people and their love of stairs?). It was rainy and cold, our first day of not so good weather but worth the bus trip here. About thirty five minutes of windy, wet roads, most of the time only one width wide...bus driver blasts the horn at ever bend to ...
