... music (including my FAVORITE - "Wherever You Will Go" - the Calling), and watched the hordes of people streaming past.
One of the things I observed sitting & drinking "spumante Piemontese" was the amount of families still out with young children so late - around 11pm. And for the most part, they were happy kids. I can't imagine being in an outdoor area with lots of people, bars, and live music with young children ...

... the day, carved with their initials in gold. I desperately wanted to stay there for the night, the suite was called Rosa's suite, fate I thought. We discussed it at length over lunch (with some vino Bianco) but common sense prevailed ......Noel's,not mine .Suppose that's more that can be spent shopping in Milano !!

Most of the vineyards estates (called "Cru") have been in families for generations. They are not open to the public ...

An easier day today - only a half hour walk after our bus ride into the hills to in Castagnole Monferrato. It was a little hazy but the view across the vineyards was glorious. Hayfever struck once again - this time it was the snowflake trees which were scattering pollen everywhere. Illaria offered to take my photo with the vineyards but I declined - my eyes were streaming, not pretty. OK. I think Juventus just scored a goal ...

... grocery store and bought lunch goods. Bread, cheese, ham, chocolate and of course a great bottle of rose wine. We sat in the car and ate it. Nothing too romantic, it was 2:00, and I was starving, and the weather outside was frightful, UGH!!

The attractions in Susa, for us, were all the Roman ruins. We visited an amphitheater, two arches of an aqueduct and many traces of the old town ...
