Tirano is 10mins away from Brusio which is where my Great Uncle Roberto and Great Aunty Ilaria live- we stayed with them for 3 nights. Arianna their daughter (mum's cousin), picked us up- she's so sweet, apparently she'd come an hour early because she was so excited! I was super excited to see her ...

We indulged in a gelato before heading back to collect our bags and catch the ferry to the train station where we caught the train to Milan or Milano. Venezia to Milano by traino 2.5 hours. We traveled ...

Being a UK train driver I usually get discount fares on such trains and sure enough this one is no different and I only have to pay half price and as I only pay half I decide to also go 1st class.

I wander up the platform and watch the train being shunted into the station. It consists of about 8 coaches (2 loco/twin coach units + 4 standard coaches) in total. 1st class is located in the power coaches at the front of ...

      1683. A Refreshing Swim

Day 273 3 hrs, 2 kms Just as the valley narrows, there's a beautiful blue lake. Time to take my perfect Alps video clips... I take one, walk a little farther... take another.... It's also a chance to jump in for a refreshing swim. Up until now my daily bath routine in the Alps has mostly been in rushing mountain streams, so this is a very nice change to be able to do some serious swimming. I continue on to a cozy little village squeezed between the cliffs and the lake... ...
