As expected, the italians have a name for good food. The lasagne was 9.8 on the Doug Scale (Liz's has to be a 10, she tells me) If the pizza slice is anything to go by, the full versions are thin, crispy and yummy as is the ice cream and coffee although I don't know about the tea as we have brought Tetley plus ASDA pasta and Homepride pasta bake in case the food here was horrible.

... the woodwork, a cast of thousands in the restaurant and a manager who never appears to go home. The meals are well priced and of good quality so we have eaten in most nights. Brian is also not enamoured with narrow cobbled streets in old towns, impatient Italian drivers who sit on your tail and one way streets that make a poor decision costly. Another reason to "eat in". We drove to Italy today! We went to Trento, (where the Toniollis once lived), and we have never seen such a beautiful place!
It is very mountainous and sits right in a valley of the Alps.
We dined at a delicious Italian restaurant, "Duo", and had a lot of fun tasting a variety of unique and delicious
... contact details were exchanged, as well as wine and food!
However, they are now both complaining about the invasion of Lake Garda by the same folk. We have all been spoken to in German and it seems that this is the lingua franca, here, in our beloved Italy!
So tomorrow we are moving on from Trento before leaving Italy (with much sadness) and heading into Austria - for more german speaking! But ...
Today I took the local train to visit Castelfranco Veneto, where my Italian blood comes from. It was a beautiful little town - very historic with old town walls. It was it a touristy place though so only two people I ran into spoke any English but everyone was really friendly.
