... one another. Cars up on car hoists- you name it, it was happening. What happens if you want your car? No can do it's at the back- they have to move 8 cars - like Russian Roulette. Mark states there is no way he's leaving the car keys with these guys. They look at him like his an idiot! In the end capitulation- there's no other hotel with car parking facilities! Welcome to Italy! Oh by the way the hotel is called "CaDoge" (car dodge!) Once ...

Awoke to blue skies and a tame marmotte in my planter box, nice to be so close to nature. I had stayed at Colfosco just beneath the Passo Sella at 1,645 m a ski town with some excellent summer sales, so some compulsory gear shopping was required. Over breakfast I poured over my maps and guidebooks to try to seek he next destination to head for. The hotel owner was Austrian and highly recommended the Grossglockner High Alpine Road as it's the highest in Austria. ...

      ... up.

The reason for choosing this walk was to see the Fojaroi, stone buildings against a hillside with a roof of beech twigs and leaves. What is unusual here is that the twigs are " gathered during the last waning moon of the month of August before the leaves have begun to dry". This ensures that the twigs keep their leaves when bundled and placed on the roof. Similar system to the english thatch. If done properly, the roof can remain ...

      Mistimed walk......

Out to the PO in the morning. As the rest of the town is closed, think everyone does their banking today. Fortunately a separate queue for those with mail. Stopped for a snack on the way home - its hard work queuing! Those in the queues just slipped away, as from the cafe, the only thing visible in the main street was a scattered leaf blowing across the cobblestones. Pure Clint Eastwood opener sans music!

So, didn't set out for Revine ...
