... about 1 hour on the boat. There is residential along the shoreline and half way up the mountain most of the way around the lake, the further we get away from Como although it begins to thin out and clear townships can be seen.
Menaggio is, like all the other towns, a holiday destination and at this time of year most of the places are closed. We find somewhere to have lunch and then spend the afternoon wandering through the alleyways ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

Leaving Milano, we started the day with Bergamo which is an ancient town about 40 km east of Milan we've been hearing a lot about. I have to admit that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Maybe it's just me setting my expectation too high.

... right on the lake, it had gorgeous views of the Alps as well. We walked along the water and grabbed some lunch. It was very nice. We returned to Bergamo, walked around a little longer and went back to the hostel to sleep.

In the morning, we got up early and had some breakfast before we headed off to the airport to go to Greece!

... and most places are about to close so we stopped at Badda Ganso for a quick bite. Nice pasta with wild boar ragu ( a Tuscan speciality) for me and a tagliate with rucola for Michelle (sirloin steak with rocket salad and pamesan cheese)with a side salad and a bottle of Chiante. Very enjoyable and a nice way to end our very mobile day. Easy 30 minute drive back to the Hotel and this was the day it was. Very tired and in bed by ...
