... through Bolzano. We have to take a short cut through the mountains to the A22 motorway. It’s a good choice, as the road is nothing less than spectacular, which we share with multiple motorcycle groups (not gangs!). We even find a stylish supermarket, probably used by the ski set in the winter, in the village of Val Gardena.

When we arrive our host advises us that tomorrow, Sunday, there will be a special church service for Corpus Christi and procession through the ...

We got to a better gradient and although she was knackered we kept going to the next chairlift. We took that up and there was another steep part. I was starting to regret taking this route as I know Ash would be hating it about now, if she wasn't already. On the other hand, I wasn't sure the other options were any better ...

... I did a big lap of the town, it was -4deg, and had no luck finding the office. After asking for directions a few times and following them in a round about way to no avail then asking for more directions leading me back to the bus stop where ash was waiting I was starting to get a bit frustrated! Eventually we noticed a big Ski Pass sign staring us right in the face across the road from the bus station... If only I ...
