... Isa and Marco tell me that food is so important to Italian culture that they have words in their vernacular that can only be used when describing the act of cooking or eating. I don't remember the Italian translations but an example that sticks in my mind is a word they can only be used to describe dry pasta being cooked/boiled in a pot. Or another is a verb that means kneading, but can only be used to describe kneading dough to make PASTA and nothing else. Funny ...

... going to restaurant we got caught in a huge rainstorm we had not a stitch of dry clothing on by the time we got back to the hotel.
