... Isa and Marco tell me that food is so important to Italian culture that they have words in their vernacular that can only be used when describing the act of cooking or eating. I don't remember the Italian translations but an example that sticks in my mind is a word they can only be used to describe dry pasta being cooked/boiled in a pot. Or another is a verb that means kneading, but can only be used to describe kneading dough to make PASTA and nothing else. Funny ...

... going to restaurant we got caught in a huge rainstorm we had not a stitch of dry clothing on by the time we got back to the hotel. We enjoyed many different meals here and always ate what the waiters recommended the last night we had the seafood speciality of the restaurant which was very nice. ... such a small world and they were travelling for a few months.We picked up our bags from the"Arsenale Garage" and headed back toward the city where we had a bit more of a look around then headed to the airport - next stop Berlin!So lucky with the weather over here - still have not worn a jersey/cardigan since London and every night we have been out until around midnight. ... expensive. Everything is priced higher, but if you are willing to search a bit, you can find some places that are DECENTLY priced. No promises though. It depends on your determination/ threshold to quit.
I was sad to leave to be perfectly honest, it was such a beautiful city. It's so different from cities like Florence and Rome. Rome has the iconic ruins and Venice is just covered in beautiful architecture and class. :)
I will return one day for sure. ...
