... Venice at the moment and it's getting a little nasty. Quite a few shops have opened up around town, staffed by young asian people, claiming to sell Murano glass at 50% off. In other windows you will see the warning that this shop actually sells 'real' Murano - not Chinese imitation at a false discounted price. ... a relaxed atmosphere as compared to this trip, even though the time difference was only a couple of weeks
As with all tourist locations prices are high, and you find the same "trinkets" at every turn.. Once you get off the beaten path to St Marks Square you can find other shopping worth the time and effort to locate. There are many treasures to be found in the meandering streets.
