... and enjoyed it on the walk to the park. The high school kids were obviously done for the day and were having some pretty intensive water fights. We found a little bit of shade and sat and watched the craziness. It was nice to have a day that was a little more low key than some of our other days. ... time headed North to a little Medieval town called Cittadella, which is one of a few remaining towns with it's defence walls still largely intact. In the two places where the wall has tumbled down a walkway has been constructed allowing visitors to walk the full 1.5km wall-top circuit. So all in all, an absolutely glorious trip - and an absolutely PERFECT 21st birthday present. So much better than being given something physical (ahhh cheesy!). I think in a few years time I'd love to go to the Carnivale, because just seeing the exquisite masks in all the windows made me hanker for the drama of such an event.

Now...where shall I hint that we go to next?

... more challenging. We did find one little Trattoria and had cappuchino (typical and delicious!) and some wonderful Bruschetta. I snapped a few photos around the rest of the area as we wandered. I can't even begin to describe the effort and skill and craft put into each of the costumes, some were so clever and well-made you couldn't help but admire the work that you know went into creating such beautiful garments.
