... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

... you touched it. I really liked Florence. It was an unexpected pleasure to explore the city. I would describe it as a very beautiful city. That evening we took a train to Pisa. We arrived there in the pouring rain. We tried to wait it out, finally found WiFi and searched for hostels. We did find one a bit of a distance away. We ran/walked fast through the rain to find it. We were slightly frustrated at the continuance of rain. At one point we just sat underneath ...

... 4 mountain passes. At the top of the first one Paso Falzarego, the altitude was 2100m, temperature 2C and it was snowing quite heavily. The road had been salted which was a relief as we don’t have winter tyres. We stopped at the top of the pass and had a superb cappuccino in a cosy wooden restaurant.

Paso Pordoi was the final one. It has 33 hairpin bends on the up side and 27 on the descent to Carnazei.

... next morning we woke up around 8.30 and headed into town shortly after for some coffee and a bit of breakfast. Feeling lazy, we parked ourselves on the (rocky) beach for a few hours to catch some rays, enjoy the lake, and play some cards. Again. We decided to rent a kayak mid day, so that spiced things up. That's basically how the whole day went - and I'm not even ashamed.
Today we were supposed to head to Lucerne, a ...

A week has gone by so quicky, and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here, especially after 5 weeks apart. Renting a runabout boat, Anne's idea, transformed the trip and has been fantastic, crusing around at our own pace and agenda.

Very last item for the week ...
