    ... uninterupted photos and also helped with the sea sick feeling as it was quite fresh. We made it back to our port feeling much better than when we went.

    The trip this morning had taken its toll so we decided to go back to our B&B with some wine and beer and enjoy a drink looking over the bay. Dinner back in the town was OK, tried the stuffed mussels. Can say we have had them but nothing to write home about!! Time for ...

    ... earth toned colours create a beautiful backdrop when looking at the port.

    Portovenere is quite a large town and it too has multi levelled buildings in port that vary in earth toned colours. We headed straight for San Pietro Church which provided stunning views of grottos and the Ligurian coast.

    After a 14hour flight from Sydney to Johannesburg, we had a 4 hour stopover at the airport where we indulged in a slightly more comfortable waiting period by booking into an airport lounge – lots of food, drnks and free wifi which were very much needed at this point!     ... we travelled up the coast until we reached Porto Venere. We had hoped to travel out to a Cinque Terre village by ferry, but soon learned that the sea was to rough to take the boat.
