After a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and a quick stop at the shop for Kate to buy a pair of shoes we were ready to start our drive into the north of Italy to the beautiful Lake District. Today we are back on the ferry to Como, walk along the foreshore to check out some large villas on the west side - now all owned by the Como Provincial Government, then onto the 'fast boat' and up to Menaggio which is midway north up the lake. ... hill, but then missed some stairs and a tunnel hat would have taken me directly there. However, I actually used the map to find my way there, and it only took me forty minutes longer. My room is right next to the front desk, pretty sure it used to be a box room or something. But it has air conditioning, so not too bad. It has a queen bed but only one pillow. One! What is the deal with the pillow cheapness, Switzerland? You can't read or sit up in bed with one ...
