... I rode around on one of the water bus boats last night for like an hour, sitting outside, freezing my **** off with a huge grin on my face.
Venice is gorgeous. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. This is one time when Vegas didn't get it quite right. You just can't replicate this place. Imagine walking down a normal suburban neighborhood, but everywhere you see cement or grass, replace it with water. It's almost impossible to imagine without seeing it, I think.

... dinner we went to the casino for a quick go on the slot machines but no luck so we went to our cabin .
NEXT DAY
We woke up the next morning and we were had a full day at sea so it was a very relaxing day and everything was done at a slow pace the weather was good and very sunny so we spent most of the day by the pool and bar area laying around on the sun lounges .That night we had a farewell Gala Dinner and a stage show like nothing you have ...
... perk!) we headed out for the day. Our plan was to make our way over to a house owned by Wake Forest where 16 Wake Forest students are studying for the semester, including one of my good friends Satie and two of my sorority sisters. The house ended up being on the complete opposite side of Venice and because the streets are so confusing and hard to follow, it took us over two hours to make it to the house, but eventually we found it. The Wake Forest house is the old U.S. Embassy ...

Venice, Veneto, Italy smithosheaAfter the wedding we spent a few days in Venice before flying home. This is one of the cities I wish I could walk around without anyone else there. I am sure it is much more beautiful without the hundreds of people on every little bridge. It was a lot of fun wandering around, getting lost and then finding a place to enjoy a glass of wine.
cheers
... 7 and too late to go to a museum. I went back to my room and got a map of Venice and then went out to get at least a taste of the city. I should have left the map at the hostel because it was no help. As soon as I started walking south I was lost. I just wandered around following the streets and kind of just following the people in front of me. When I was getting worried about being lost I would follow the sound of tourists walking on some of the more major ...
Venezia, Italy kenbeyerleindefinitely needed this w/e at lago di garda! Had two days of learning how to kitesurf - heaps of fun and felt like I was alive and back in my element again. Found another quaint restaurant with a spectacular view of the lake. stayed in, I'm sure?!, an asbestos hut that smelled of gas which I soon found was due to a broken pipe! On ...
Malcesine, Italy foodnut... to "Quink". Needless to say, being the unkind people we are, seeing him struggle to actually eat some of the disgusting mess caused us great hilarity. The evening finished off with Hannah modelling her new mask, a rather unusual leaf design. Incidentally, the background may look decidedly "80s Balti House" but was in fact fabric. Yes, our hotel really did have padded walls.
Venice, Italy hayleymo... clothes like we currently are? Oh, and the extra miniture toilet thing in the bathroom... can someone tell us what it's used for?? Handbasen for small people possibly? Maybe a pets drinking bowl? Maybe just incase you get sick of washing your hands in the sink or peeing in the toilet you use it?? Will post some pictures on our blog shortly on the back entries, so you may want to have another look at them shortly... ...till the next blog... -Callum & Caroline.
Venice, Italy carocal... back just as much as the ride there (photo 23), except that it's just so sad to leave. It's the best free cruise I've ever been on. We arrive back at our hotel, pick up our stuff, and make the bolt for it to the station. And what better way to top of a perfect day.. than to have McDonalds for dinner :) I end up with just a cheeseburger - apparently, the cheeseburgers have better ketchup and cheese here (JT). The stazione at Mestre (Mestre station where we pick up our train ...
