Met a lot of nice people today, (Americans) because we were wearing our Cardinal stuff. I did not know there were so many Americans. Seeing Venice

... over 5 miles.
A lot of people told us we'd visit Venice regularly over the next few years while we are stationed in Aviano....and I think they might be right. Venice is an enchanting place, and the food is pretty darn good as well.
Allen and I are hopeless romantics, so this place seems to suite us well. ;)
definitely needed this w/e at lago di garda! Had two days of learning how to kitesurf - heaps of fun and felt like I was alive and back in my element again. Found another quaint restaurant with a spectacular view of the lake. stayed in, I'm sure?!, an asbestos hut that smelled of gas which I soon found was due to a broken pipe! On ...

On the road again!

... m sure they will hate the pasta and then on to Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and London in 10 days. They were rightly complaining about their travel agent and their boyfriends. One boyfriend was so bad he was going to a lingerie party which was causing much grief, girltalk and phonecalls home to get additional opinions about the depth of this crime. Slept some. Venice is still there. The sunshine was really nice!! We dropped our bags and ...

Venice - water, water everywhere

... the way to our hotel, the Bernardi through this maze of little cobble-stoned streets. Our landmark is the SS. Apostoli Church Square, so we walk along the Strada Nuovo towards the spires looming in the distance, and when we get to the church, we see a board pointing to the hotel. It's a cute little narrow hotel in a narrow alley, quiet and cozy, family-owned, located near the Rialto Bridge. We settle our ...
