    ... for 30-40 feet across the water, except I didn't as I caught the edge of my raft and summersaulted off the end with arms and legs in all directions before landing in a heap in the water !!! Helen seems to attract money ...     ... a campsite in Portoroso. But on heading there, the sat nav in the car decided to die and left us flailing for directions on a Slovenian motorway.     ... I could photograph the nice view on our way back down. Found the checkpoint and were cross to find no person there at all. However 2-3 Kms into Slovenia we came across the real checkpoint and our four Aussie passports caused quite a queue behind as they were scanned and stamped twice.

    ... close to Italy (only half an hour by ferry to Trieste) there were also some great italian eateries as well.

    Although there is only the one big hotel in Piran there are quite a few little smaller guest houses . The beach area in front of our hotel is meant to be for guests only but we saw some very interesting people try and push their way in nonetheless.
