It was raining today and really cold so we took in the local museum full of Roman antiquities found in recent local excavations, it was small but still astounding that it was over 2000 years ago and they were so civilised. ... but we were blessed with sunny weather. Sulmona, south from L'Aquila, is in a valley surrounded by National Parks with hiking in summer and skiing in winter so shares some similarities with Bright in Victoria.
