... hadn't seen this part of my family for 8.5 years! Their house is amazing too- and the view of the train and the mountains- wow! We had an amazing dinner of parmigiano aubergine made by Ilaria and then tried all sorts of cheeses and looked at photos from when they were last in NZ when I was 11 months old! Such lovely photos. We indulged in a gelato before heading back to collect our bags and catch the ferry to the train station where we caught the train to Milan or Milano. Venezia to Milano by traino 2.5 hours. We traveled ...

Finally over this pass and I turn onto the fast flowing no 3 road towards St Moritz.

The temp so far has been everything from 2 Celsius to 14 Celsius but with not a breath of wind and great sunshine it certainly does not feel cold at all.

We left the hotel around 10:00 this morning. We had a lovely buffet breakfast, packed up and headed to the Swiss National Park. But first we drove into the town of Davos. It has been said that Davos is more cool than quaint. That must be why we didn't find much of interest to us. It is more geared to the crème de la crème of capitalism who attend the annual World Economic Forum here.

It started out to be ...
